Syracuse Catholic Women's Commission
Diocese of Syracuse
Commission on Women in the Church and in Society
The commission consists of women from parish communities in the Diocese of Syracuse who serve as a resource to Bishop Douglas J Lucia. The commission aims to further the mission of the Roman Catholic Church in society. Various issues are addressed by the Commission's individual committees, including the dignity and vocation of women, respect for life, evangelization, family life and spirituality, youth & young adult ministry, social action, and justice.
The Commission's major project is the annual Syracuse Catholic Women's Conference, started in 2010. The conference attracts nearly 1,000 women every year and features a variety of nationally acclaimed speakers.
