About the Conference

Women from across the Diocese of Syracuse are invited to gather for the annual Syracuse Catholic Women’s Conference, a day dedicated to encountering Christ, deepening faith, and celebrating the gift of sisterhood in the Church.

 

Throughout the day, participants will be encouraged and inspired through dynamic Catholic speakers, uplifting music, and the celebration of Holy Mass with Bishop Douglas Lucia.

The Very Reverend Chris Alar, MIC

Father Chris Alar, MIC, is the Provincial Superior of the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception located in the United States, England, and Argentina. He wrote and produced the popular "Divine Mercy 101" DVD and the "Explaining the Faith" YouTube series. He is the author of the bestselling books After Suicide: There's Hope for Them and for You and Understanding Divine Mercy, as well as his newest release, Understanding the Sacraments: God's Grace Guaranteed. He is host of the EWTN show Living Divine Mercy, which airs on Thursdays, 10:00 p.m. EST. From 2014-2024, he served as "Fr. Joseph, MIC," the Director of the Association of Marian Helpers.

Anna Nuzzo

Anna Nuzzo is an international Catholic singer, songwriter, pianist, recording artist, and speaker. Since beginning her music ministry in 2012, she has performed at retreats, conferences, missions, Masses, and concerts throughout the United States and internationally. A recording artist with six albums, she has appeared at venues including the National Shrine of Divine Mercy, EWTN, Carnegie Hall, and events in Australia, Israel, and Vatican City. Her ministry focuses on prayer, worship, and sharing the Catholic faith through music.

Mother Gabrielle Marie

Mother Gabrielle Marie is the Mother Superior and foundress of the Benedictine Daughters of Divine Will. She spent thirty-three years as a Poor Clare of Perpetual Adoration under the guidance of Mother Angelica, serving in leadership roles that included Vicar and Novice Mistress. After discerning a call to establish a new monastic community dedicated to Eucharistic adoration and the spirituality of the Divine Will, she founded the Benedictine Daughters of Divine Will in Italy in 2011. She continues to lead the community and teaches on the writings of the Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta and the spirituality of living in the Divine Will.

Robert Enright

Robert Enright is Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and holder of the Aristotelian Professorship in Forgiveness Science. A licensed psychologist, he pioneered the scientific study of forgiveness and has received numerous awards for his research and teaching. His work focuses on moral development and the psychology of forgiveness, and he is a frequent speaker whose research has been featured in major media outlets.
